Begining January, Algeria issued an important tender for the purchase of bread wheat (800,000 MT) and durum wheat (200,000 MT) to be delivered prior March. Lots of French ports take advantage of this tender due to russian exports which are stoped as well the ice season in great lakes.
Port-la-Nouvelle, 1st French port for durum wheat, is naturaly engaged in this contract. The vessel MG STAR is the first ship loaded (12 000 T) by "les Silos du Sud" and several other similar grain carriers are awaited at our port within the next few weeks. Already, january 2011 shows a 19 % increase in grain export compared to 2010.
